Hair and Skin: Aloe Vera Gel and Lemon Juice Mask

Instructions:

  • First, cut 2 thick aloe vera leaves from an aloe vera plant using a sharp knife.
  • Remove the serrated edges of the leaves.
  • Slit the top layer of the leaves lengthwise (the translucent aloe vera gel will be visible).
  • Peel off the aloe vera gel from the gel from the leaves, carefully.
  • Place the gel pulp in a bowl.
  • Squeeze out the lemon juice.
  • Pour the aloe vera gel into a blender.
  • Pour the lemon juice into the blender as well.
  • Blend for about 1 minute.
  • Pour the obtained mixture into a bowl.

This mixture is your natural hair and skin beauty treatment.

For hair: Apply to hair and work it into it with your fingertips. Massage the mask in circular motion and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Afterwards, wash your hair as usual.

For face: Apply the mask to both your face and neck in order to maintain an even skin tone. Smooth it over and massage in circular motion. Leave the mask on for about 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse off.

Useful tips:

  • Wash the aloe vera leaves thoroughly prior to use.
  • Cut the aloe vera leaves into large chunks or cubes to make it easier to take out the gel.
  • Instead of using a knife to take out the aloe gel, you can scoop it out with a spoon.
  • Squeeze the lemon with your hand if you don’t have a lemon squeezer. To obtain more lemon juice, roll the lemon on the countertop before cutting it into halves.

Caution:

Frequent use of lemon juice on your hair can lighten your natural hair color. Therefore, it is recommended that you substitute lemon juice with honey occasionally. Honey and aloe vera gel combination will also help moisturize and condition your hair.
